Did you know you could subscribe to a blog and get notified when a blog is updated? Most modern blogging applications support RSS (Really Simple Syndication), which allows you to read the blog in a RSS reader. The RSS reader checks for news feeds every few minutes, and notify you when a feed is updated.

As for the RSS reader, I recommend using the web-based Bloglines, which is very easy to use, and it doesn’t require any software installation. You may optionally download and install the Bloglines notifier if you prefer.
